Welcome to the June edition of Ulster Business
LONDON-DERRY: In our Guest Comment this month we learn that the Londonderry Chamber of Commerce in the years ahead is to position Derry as the regional economic centre for the North West, developing the City's close links with London, according to the body's CEO Janice Tracy (right). INSIDE STORY: County Tyrone is not a place normally associated with high-tech engineering export success, but Cookstown manufacturer CDE is generating an increasingly bigger chunk of its revenues from sales to international clients. It currently sells more than 90% of its machinery outside Northern Ireland to customers in India, the Arabian Gulf, and Europe. The partners expect a new £5mn extension to underpin that growth, and add to their current turnover of £20mn.
