The Signature Works and New Life Conselling

Bangor based embroidery company The Signature Works has named charity New Life Counselling as their charity of the year.

New Life Counselling, based in North Belfast, provides counselling support to children, teenagers and adults across Northern Ireland for a range of mental health issues including depression, bereavement, anxiety, bullying, and relationship breakdown.

The Signature Works, which operates out of Balloo Drive, became aware of the charity having been asked by a customer to provide t-shirts for the 300-strong team which ran the Belfast City Marathon to raise money for New Life Counselling earlier this year. As the charity delivers counselling sessions free of charge to anyone who needs them, it relies heavily on fundraising and donations; touched by their customer’s story and her marathon effort, community-focused The Signature Works was inspired to do what they could to support New Life Counselling.

Peter McConvey, Director of The Signature Works, explained why they were committed to helping the charity: “We are a very community focused business and frequently work with a wide range of charities. However, after a valued customer introduced us to New Life Counselling and shared her story with us, we were inspired to support them through fundraising for the rest of the year. The charity does great work and we’re very proud to support them, and hope the partnership will raise much needed funds for New Life Counselling.”

Chief Executive of New Life Counselling Karen Collins welcomed the partnership with the Bangor business: “Having the support of The Signature Works means a great deal to New Life Counselling. Whilst we’re based in North Belfast we strive to provide counselling services to anyone who needs them, wherever they live and are particularly keen to see more services available in Bangor and East Belfast.

The money raised with the help of The Signature Works will help us to achieve this goal and continue providing this crucial service. We’re very excited to work with the team in the coming months.”

The Signature Works has a number of fundraising events planned for the rest of the year, including a North Down and Ards Business Football Tournament in November. To find out more or to make a donation, please visit www.justgiving.com/company/thesignatureworks
