Fund manager E-Synergy is offering budding entrepreneurs the opportunity to access seed funding at a two day event to take place next month.

E-Synergy, which manages the £10m suite of NISPO Funds on behalf of Invest Northern Ireland, said its Accelerator event will take place on September 24 and 25 in Belfast.

Those who want the chance to be selected to pitch to receive investment must apply by 5pm on September 7.

Mike Bowman, Director of the NISPO Funds, explained: “With the launch of this year’s Accelerator Event we hope to repeat the success of last year where positive investments were made in start-up businesses like Mobile Report and The Weatherbies. This fantastic opportunity not only provides financial assistance, but also gives those selected access to angel investors, mentors and advisors which is crucial to the success of any start-up."

He added: “The objective of the Event is simple – to provide equity investment to those companies with high growth potential who can demonstrate that around £50k of investment will take them to a quantifiable milestone that accelerates the growth of the business.”

William McCulla, Director of Corporate Finance & Property Solutions with Invest NI, said that while equity funding was not for everyone, it can open a route for businesses to fund their growth plans.

“Competitions such as the NISPO Accelerator Event give companies the opportunity to pitch their plans to investors and a chance to raise investment based on the strength of their submission, presentation and business plan. We believe that exposure of funding streams in this way will help businesses take the first step towards funding their growth plans,” he said.

Following the event companies will be informed of the outcome by 15th of October and successful applicants, after due diligence, will have their investment finalised.
