Katherine James, Danske Bank Head of Small Business, demonstrates the mobile business app to Aidan McPeake, owner of Peake Blooms flower wholesalers
The Mobile Business app contains some of the most important features of Danske Bank's online banking service, Business eBanking. Using their iOS or Android smartphone or tablet devices, customers can now view their accounts in real time and make or authorise payments while they are on the go. The new app gives customers the ability to manage their accounts anytime and anywhere, whether they operate locally or across borders.
The app is free and can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.
Features of the new app include the ability to transfer money between accounts or to a third party, make or approve payments and access to markets information and a currency converter. For businesses operating in multiple jurisdictions, the app's unique cross-border functionality will enable them to manage foreign currency payments between their accounts in different countries.
The Mobile Business app will be of most benefit to small business owners with busy schedules and a lot of time away from the office. The app is being simultaneously launched across Danske Bank's six main markets in Northern Europe.
Danske Bank's Head of Small Business, Katherine James, said: "Businesses need to be more and more efficient and make decisions on the go. Increasingly, they are spending time away from the office and many are now also operating across borders. They need a bank that can respond to those needs.
"Customers have been asking us for this for some time . They want to be able to operate their accounts anytime and anywhere, and now they can. With our mobile business app we are making it easier for our customers to monitor and manage their business finances and there is more to come. Next month we will be launching a new notifications service so businesses can get text or email alerts with balance updates or notifications of payments received for example."
Danske Bank's latest app builds on the success of their award -winning mobile banking app for personal customers and dedicated tablet banking app which has been downloaded almost 14,000 times since it was launched last October.
