P&O Ferries

Laura McClean from Markethill going to study Business Studies at Napier University; Holly Hill from Larne going to study Nursing at Dundee University; and Chloe McIlwaine from Larne going to Stirling University to study  Sport Exercise and Science

With thousands of students across Northern Ireland getting ready for their ‘A’ Level results on the 15th August, P&O Ferries, the UK’s largest ferry operator, has put together a couple of travel offers that are sure to scoop top marks among students and their parents this Autumn.

Students can take advantage of either a weekend day trip or a three day return to get the ferry best deal from P&O Ferries:

  • 3 day return for car & up to 5 passengers at £179 for Cairnryan and £199 for Troon;
  • Weekend day trip for car & up to 3 passengers at £60 for Cairnryan and £80 for Troon.

The offers can be booked from Wednesday 14th August until October 6th, 2013 and travel can take place from August 22nd until October 13th, 2013.*

Announcing the launch of the offers, Neal Mernock, Sector Director – Irish Sea, P&O Ferries said: "Numbers of local students applying for a place at a Scottish University rose this year and so sorting out travel across the Irish Sea is going to be a priority once students have confirmed their place.

"These fantastic money saving deals will make the job of setting out for Uni easy for everyone. Parents can enjoy peace of mind as they travel with their sons and daughters to see them safely off to Uni.

"Students can pack everything they want – and not just what they need for their new term. And to top it all Cairnryan and Troon offer the fastest onward connections to major Scottish cities including Glasgow and Edinburgh. With these great offers I’m looking forward to welcoming growing numbers of students on board this Autumn."
