The growing thirst for cosmetic surgery has seen a new clinic open up in Belfast offering face lifts and breast implants.

Dublin-headquarted River Medical will offer both surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures at its new Lisburn Road premises.

As well as procedures such as eyelid surgery, the company said it will also be carrying out skincare some of which it claims aren't available anywhere else in Northern Ireland.

Aoibhin Cronin, Clinic Manager of the new Belfast branch said cosmetic procedures are becoming more popular.

"There's no denying that more people are taking a greater interest in the way they look and the general view of cosmetic care has certainly changed over the past few years. It's now more accessible than ever before, it's not as expensive as people think and, having spoken regularly to our customers, we know there is a demand for it.

"We cater for a very wide market - whether you're an older man or woman who wants to target aging or other skin problems, or a bride to be with a wedding dress or honeymoon body in mind; or even a younger person who wants to invest in their skin – we have a comprehensive mix suitable to all needs."
