Arts & Business has announced the eagerly awaited shortlist for the Allianz Arts & Business NI Awards 2011. Six judges from across the spectrum of commerce and culture had the difficult job of short listing the best examples of excellence in partnerships from a record number of entries.

The awards pay tribute to a total of 23 short listed partnerships jostling for first prize in five of the eight awards categories. Seven local business persons have also been nominated for the prestigious Business Individual of the Year Award, with a further three individuals shortlisted for the Professional Development Award and 19 arts organisations shortlisted for the Arts Award. Sharon McTaggart, Operations Manager at Allianz said: “The standard of all the entries for the Allianz Arts & Business NI Awards has, this year, been truly exceptional. The diversity and dynamism of all the projects has highlighted just how successful these collaborations can be. Sincere congratulations to all those partnerships who have been shortlisted.” Mary Trainor, Director, Arts & Business NI added: “Good luck to all shortlisted organisations, their hard work and dedication to their projects and partnerships has rewarded them with a place on the shortlist for The Allianz Arts & Business NI Awards. These projects have grown from simple ideas into shining examples of the local cultural landscape showing remarkable creativity and energy and what is possible through arts and business partnerships working together.” Winners will be unveiled at The Allianz Arts & Business NI Awards ceremony on Thursday 20th January 2011. The ceremony will take place at Blackstaff Studios, BBC, Belfast. The full short-list can be found at Those short-listed include: Allianz Arts & Business Community Award
