Kicking off with renaming the UK’s best hotel to ‘RMS Merchant’ this Easter, the campaign will see changes to the building inside and out to celebrate the centenary of the world’s most iconic ship.
Guests arriving on board ‘RMS Merchant’ will be treated to a raft of Titanic-themed activities, including a captain’s welcome from the nautically-themed concierge staff. Once checked in to the ‘Five Star Line’, the Merchant’s guests can enjoy Titanic-themed afternoon teas in ‘The Great Room Restaurant’ or make their way to ‘A Deck to The Bar’ where they can sample the special Gin and Titonic cocktails.
Dinner will be served in the fine dining splendour of ‘The Great Room Restaurant’, where guests will enjoy food inspired by the extraordinary menus found in First Class on Titanic with the ‘Captain’s Table’ menu.
To round off the evening, guests can raise a glass to Titanic in the hotel’s award winning cocktail bar and enjoy a tipple from RMS Merchant’s themed cocktail list. The cocktail list includes ‘Punch Romaine’, a drink that was served as the sixth course of Titanic's final dinner. ‘RMS Merchant’s bar staff will also be sporting uniforms similar to those worn by Titanic’s food service staff.
The Merchant Hotel’s General Manager, Adrian McLaughlin, comments: “The launch of RMS Merchant is the start of a month-long programme that guests at the hotel can look forward to when checking in. We’ve created a range of initiatives that will give all visitors to the hotel a unique Titanic experience, and we’re looking forward to welcoming guests aboard across the month of April.”
