Phoenix Energy Holdings has appointed Michael McKinstry to the position of chief executive of the Northern Ireland operation.
He replaces Peter Dixon who will become a non-executive director of parent company Hastings - the Australian infrastructure fund which bought Phoenix from Terra Firma last year – to focus on managing its investment portfolio.
Mr McKinstry has been finance director of Phoenix Natural Gas since it formed in 1996 and is also a director of Phoenix Energy Holdings and the holding company established by Hastings Lionrai Investments.
He will start the new role at the end of September.
“I am confident that Michael will build on the great success achieved under Peter Dixon’s distinguished leadership,” the chief executive of Hastings Andrew Day said. “Michael has a wealth of knowledge and experience within the energy sector in Northern Ireland.
“He has great determination, drive and vision for the business and I am confident he has the ability to lead Phoenic through its next phase of growth and development. I am delighted Peter will continue to be a key member of the broader Hastings team.”
