Seven Northern Ireland organisations have been nominated for the fourth annual Private Business Awards, the nationwide scheme which celebrates the contribution private businesses make to the health of the UK economy. Representatives from the companies attended a dinner in May in PwC's Belfast offices to celebrate their involvement in the awards.
Sponsored by PwC, in association with HSBC Private Bank, the awards recognise the UK's most successful private sector companies and their management. Over the three years of the competition, seven local organisations have been finalists, with two having been outright category winners.
Craigavon-based, Ulster Carpet Mills (Holdings) Ltd. was named 2013 UK Exporter of the Year, while in 2012 Belfast's Bryson Charitable Group was named Social Enterprise of the Year.
Private businesses across the UK have been nominated across 10 categories, including CEO of the Year, Family Business of the Year, Private Business of the Year and Technology Innovation of the Year. The winners will be announced at a gala awards event to be held in The Guildhall, London on 10 September 2014.
