The details of a new 251-bedroom student accommodation development for south Belfast have been revealed.
Plans are under way for the scheme, including 219 ‘cluster beds’ and 32 studio flats, shared communal facilities reception, management suite, along with retail, at Botanic Link. The area crosses in between Botanic Avenue and University Road.
Now, CG drawings of the scheme have been revealed, and a full planning application has been submitted to Belfast City Council. The development was first reported by the Belfast Telegraph.
A design statement from the developers says the “intention is to develop managed student accommodation where there will be a staff and security presence within the building 24 hours a day”.
“Specifically this will be a mix of studio and cluster type accommodation. In total there will be 251 units, each will be equipped with its own ensuite shower and WC.
“The cluster bedrooms will have access to a common living / kitchen and dining room while the studio have an integrated kitchenette, dining area, bed, wardrobe, and a desk for study purposes.”
