Work on a long-awaited multi-million pound distillery could get up-and-running once again amid fresh plans, Ulster Business can reveal.
Belfast Distillery Company is converting the vacant A wing at Crumlin Road Gaol, which is a grade A listed building, in north Belfast into a whiskey distillery.
It’s now submitted revised fresh plans for the scheme, including listed building consent which includes proposed “internal demolitions and alterations and external alterations… to facilitate plant equipment and associated works relating to whiskey distillery and visitors attraction”.
Work commenced on the distillery in February 2015, but it’s understood much of the work has since stopped.
Belfast Distillery Company Ltd is to have fulfilled pre-construction conditions by June last year.
The new application has been submitted by Like Architects.
